| Here, we show mutual-information (MI) Optimal flight paths for February 15, which maximizes the MI between the surface velocity measured on February 15 and Sigma-T on February 16 and 18 at the verification points shown in the figure on the right. In addition, we consider flight paths that are 700 nmi and 805 nmi long. In each case, the flight is allowed to travel in any of Nθ=16 different directions (0° [north], 22.5°, 45°, etc.), in Ns=7 segments between takeoff and landing. |
