MSEAS-WAPE Acoustic Analysis and Forecasts for 19 Jul 0000Z to 22 Jul 0000Z 2024, Issued 19 Jul 2024

We employ our MIT-MSEAS Wide Angle ParEq (MSEAS-WAPE) modeling system to forecast a set of acoustics transmission loss (TL) fields along selected NESMA vertical sections (see map). We forecast the TL fields and propagation loss curves for a 550 Hz source at 100 m depth (see maps), using the sound speed and density forecasts from our MIT-MSEAS ocean modeling system as inputs. Forecasts are provided every 12 hours and we show a subset of the sections with significant TL variability.
