Channel Domain -- 09-11 October

The HOPS Primitive Equation model was restart from the run using the Alliance CTD data collected through 29 September and forced with atmospheric fluxes from FNMOC. The new data taken on the evening of 04 Oct through the morning of 06 Oct was assimilated. This forcast was not nested with the Elba domain.

The results presented below show temperature, salinity and total velocity vectors at the surface and at 50m. Overlain on these fields are the 50, 200 and 500m isobaths.

The forecast indicates the major external forcing on Procchio Bay is from the northeast of Elba, driven by the gyre which has been present to the North of Elba for most of the experiment.
