  INTRODUCTION
  ============

  This directory contains HOPS's atlases and database.  These atlases
  are designed to be read by the GRIDS package ("pub/HOPS/GRIDS").


 ============
 Installation
 ============

 These atlases are available over the INTERNET via anonymous FTP from
 alboran.harvard.edu (128.103.2.252).  When connected, you will be
 in the FTP directory.  To obtain this package, go to the directory
 "pub/HOPS/Atlas" and get files:

	Readme.atlas	This file.

	etopo5.nc.gz	Compressed NetCDF file for ETOPO5 Earth
			topography (elevation and bathymetry),
			global coverage at 5 minutes resolution.
                        http://www7430.nrlssc.navy.mil/etopo5.html

	gom_topo.nc.gz	Compressed NetCDF file for topography in
			the Gulf of Maine.  This topography set has
			15 second resolution and covers the area
				39.5N - 46.0N
				71.5W - 63.0W
                        This topography was obtained from the US
                        Geologic Survey
