The strong northerly winds of the 22 and 23 of September have given rise to an interesting upwelling event from Race Point to Dennis. Therefore, we suggest a coordinated study by the Oceanus AUV's, Lucky Lady and NUWC Remus AUV's of this region (around 70deg. 10', 42deg 0min').

Ed Levine's REMUS plans are consistent with this, and he plans to run his vehicule about 5km along 70deg. 10', southward. We have suggested that he stay around 10 m depth, mainly for engineering facility.

An upwelling investigation with a 5 to 7.5 km resolution is being prepared for the Lucky Lady and will be brought on board by Dimitri Kroujiline (I will also send emails of lat lon to Lucky Lady's scientists) tomorrow morning.

We suggest that the Odessy AUV's do a two dimensional investigation off shore and along shore from the above (lat, lon). Yoyoing patterns are welcomed. Dimitri Kroujiline will also bring some circulation maps with him so as to help in the Odessy AUV's track plans. Electronic communications with Knut are also underway.

To support these suggested sampling, we have prepared an updated Cap Cod Bay circulation statement. It will be posted on the web and emailed to you shortly.
