LOOPS Mass. Bay Sea Trial - Adaptive Sampling

Circulation estimates derived from data and dynamical modeling results are analyzed at Harvard and used to prepare sampling plans for the hydrographic and AUV studies. These plans are adapted to changing conditions and features which are deemed to be interesting. These sampling plans are being distributed via email and this web site. A description of the sampling strategies is presented below, as are examples of some of the tracks which were designed according to these strategies.
