What do users need
When do we make switch over

Make a list of codes to compile and test on cluster

Generate concatenated software list

Matlab
   - Demo license can be used for the short term
   - Look into MIT license

PathScale compilers
   - Double check that we do get Perpetual Right to Use
   - Double check that they turn down the license manager check-out time

File systems
   - one 3U has NFS
   - use other 3U to test/tune PVFS2
   - Consider putting another GigE card on 3U servers, so desktop machines
     can access data without going through front-end

Back-ups
   - MIT backups available for desktop systems now.  May be able to dot
     the 3U servers in about a month, will hear back from them.
   - Rolling Backups: hourly, retain last week only
   - Tape back-ups

Instead of a group user account, use sticky bit and umask to make allowing
group read/write the default action.
   - Each project has its own group with a specific list of users
   - Each user account has its own group with only 1 member (the user)
